CICADA: Sonic Shower, 2020
Sound installation

The placement of Bradley’s sound installation between the entrance to the building and the entrance to the gallery serves as a metaphor and an invitation; a metaphor of our re-emergence and an invitation to leave the world behind for a little while to inhabit and experience the exhibition.

Bradley often traces our relationship to place through ambient sound recordings. These cicada sounds were recorded several months into the pandemic in August 2020, at the Joseph Beuys Sculpture Park on the UMBC campus.
