Dive, 2021
Acrylic and burlap on canvas
72” x 96”

In these two paintings, Dive and Plunge, I use figurative abstraction to explore layering and composition clarity and abstraction. Transparent glazes of color help me explore overlapping and refracted energetic figurative poses. Flowing figures become shapes that blend and merge, alluding to the flow of water and the way color and light interact when a figure is submerged.

An abstract acrylic painting made with saturated colors. The shapes are both organic and geometric, with hard edges and smooth curves. Some of the shapes mimic parts of the human body. The shapes are translucent where they overlap.
